Full Pest Control Vehicle Walkthrough - Van & Truck Setup (With Cost Breakdowns)
Hi, I’m Jonas Olson, CEO of Pest Badger. If you’ve ever wondered what pest control vehicles look like at a company doing eight figures in revenue, this post is for you. I’ll walk you through how we build and equip our fleet, from our original Nissan vans to the new Ford Mavericks we’re now using.
You’ll see the full setup, inside and out, along with a complete price breakdown for both vehicles and equipment. Whether you’re just getting started or scaling your company, this should give you some clarity and inspiration.
The Original Setup: Nissan NV Vans

We started with Nissan NV vans. These were ideal back in the day, especially in bad weather. Everything is enclosed, which keeps the equipment dry and safe. It also allows technicians to store everything in the van at home without needing a garage.
We picked these up around 2018 or 2019 for about $17,000 each. The ladder rack added another $1,100. We wrapped every van for about $3,500 and I highly recommend doing the same for your brand.
What’s Inside the Nissan Van
65-Gallon Water Tank: Gravity-fed, usually costs $200 to $300.
FlowZone 3-Gallon Backpack Sprayer: This is our go-to for exterior treatments.
B&G 1-Gallon Pump Sprayer: For interiors and precision work, priced between $300 and $400.
Web Poles and Brushes: These usually run about $100 total.
Bait Stations, PPE, Granules, and Tools: Everything is strapped in and organized for speed and safety.
Power Inverter: Plugs into the cigarette lighter to charge batteries.
Raven Dash Cameras: Every vehicle is equipped with audio, GPS, and video for accountability and safety.
Total Cost of the Nissan Van Setup
Van and Wraps: $24,000
Equipment: $7,000
Total: $31,000
The New Setup: Ford Mavericks

We’ve since upgraded our fleet to Ford Mavericks. They are efficient, hybrid trucks with great gas mileage and a clean, professional look. These are electric hybrids and have built-in charging capabilities for our sprayers and gear.
Of course, we wrap every Maverick in our brand colors. One percent of vehicles in the U.S. are pink, which is why we chose that color. It grabs attention and makes us instantly recognizable. Even when we only had one truck, people said they saw us everywhere.
What’s Inside the Ford Maverick
50-Gallon Water Tank: Slightly smaller than the Nissan version, but still plenty for a full day.
FlowZone Backpack Sprayer and Pump Sprayer: Standard tools, now in our branded pink.
Lockable Job Box: Stores granular spreaders, mole traps, duster heads, and liquid products.
Side Compartments: Hold gloves, bait, PPE, and miscellaneous tools.
Charging Station in Cab: Allows techs to charge equipment batteries throughout the day.
This specific truck didn’t yet have a topper, but that’s on the way. Once installed, the entire setup will be secure.
Total Cost of the Ford Maverick Setup
Truck and Wraps: $40,220
Equipment: $5,220
Total: $45,440
What This Means for You
If you’re just starting out, you do not need to spend this much. You can start with your personal vehicle, invest $300 to $500 in basic equipment, and get to work. But over time, a clean and efficient truck setup becomes a key advantage.
It helps your techs move faster, builds brand trust, and even makes hiring easier. And yes, wrap your vehicle. Even a simple vinyl sticker with your name and number is better than nothing.
Final Thoughts
Our trucks regularly produce between $250,000 and $350,000 in revenue per year. Whether it’s a $17,000 van or a $40,000 Maverick, the return is there if you set it up right.
These are the exact setups we’re using today. If you want a behind-the-scenes look at our wildlife or lawn trucks next, just let me know.
